Old Kaffeneio Turned Two-Storey House in Katsoulianika Village
Kythira’s architecture had a hand in drawing us to the island. We were intrigued by the various historical influences that the island has witnessed and the traces left on its visual landscape, from the Venetian to the Neoclassical. Our house is built in a Kytherian-style of architecture. The ground floor is a typical kamara (with a vaulted ceiling), and the top floor’s green ceiling is the original ceiling of the house which was kept and restored. You will find plenty of beautiful houses built in Kytherian style in the village of Aroniadika. There’s an Architecture Trail that starts from there and is not to be missed.
